Metamorphosis (Make-up Guide)

It's really a wonder how a make-up can change one's appearance. Just by using proper make-up colors and basic brush techniques you can transform yourself into a young and beautiful princess into an old woman or into an ugly old witch.
Earlier this month, our Speech and Stage Arts professor tasked us to group ourselves into three and transform each other into the beautiful Princess Rapunzel, to an 86 year-old woman and to the old witch in Hansel and Gretel.
Before applying  make-up to each other's faces, our professor asked us to prepare different make-up palettes for the three looks. These palette will serve us our guide in creating our assigned looks.
Below are some photographs of the make-up palette created for the three looks assigned to us. I call these pallettes- Metamorphosis.

For Princess Rapunzel, I used palette in light and feminine colors. A combination of golden yellow and earth brown for her eyes will complement to her beautiful blonde hair. Light brown eyebrow color and pink blush on for her total royal look. A combination of pink and nude lip color is what I used for her lips.

The old woman make-up is the easiest to decide. You only need to work on heavy contours and highlights. If possible, you may erase the person's eyebrows by using glue sticks or you may use matte gray eye shadows to color her eyebrows. A matte nude lipstick is the most appropriate lip color.

Creating the witch look is very challenging. Aside from make-up, you also need prosthetics to achieve a perfect witch look. You will  need it for the witch's nose and chin. If you do not have any prosthetics with you, you may create your's using tissue papers and glue. A combination of deep red and black lipstick will help you create a bolder evil look. In contouring the witch's face, you only need to do the same pattern as the old woman's, the only difference is your choice of colors. For the witch's look, a combination of black and brown colors is better.
