If you're into beauty products, there's no way you haven't heard or read about the brand Naturactor. I recently tried one of their products, and here’s my honest Naturactor Cover Face Concealer Foundation review, where I share my thoughts on its coverage, longevity, and overall performance.

Even before I started writing makeup reviews, the Naturactor Concealer Foundation was already a cult beauty must-have, endorsed by influencers, beauty gurus, and celebrities. I remember wanting to try it for the longest time to see if this Japanese foundation is truly worth buying, and not just another hype.

Japanese brands are known for their exceptional quality. One of the main claims I’ve read about this product is its impeccable coverage, which is exactly what I wanted to test. Naturactor states that it offers concealer-level coverage that can hide dark spots and even out the user’s skin tone. I have a few dark spots from past breakouts that I usually cover with concealer. Before using the product, I hoped it would be effective enough to reduce the number of makeup products I use, especially when traveling.

In this review, I’ll share my experience using the product, its pros and cons, and whether I would recommend it.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Naturactor Cover Face is the most popular concealer foundation in Japan. Naturactor concealer is perfect and smooth coverage makes any skin type amazingly flawless! It is non-comedogenic and does not cake on your face. 

Naturactor claims their product doesn't cake and provides a flawless finish. This is also something that I wanted to tackle in this review. 

For reference, I have a warm skin tone, not as tan or morena as most Filipinas do, but probably a few shades fairer. When the weather is cold, I tend to have dry skin, and I have oily skin on my T-zone area during humid days. As mentioned earlier, I don't have active acne or redness on my face, but I do have dark spots from past acne. I also noticed that when I lack sleep, my under-eyes would be darker and my skin feels dry. I'm looking for a foundation that addresses these issues. 

The packaging of the Naturactor Concealer Foundation is simple. It came in a solid box made of hard paper with all the details of the products stipulated all over it, like the manufacturing date, bar code, ingredients, etc. 

It's a no-fuss, no-nonsense packaging. However, much of the text is written in Japanese characters. No biggie, though, since you can always use a translator app if you wish to read them. 

Naturactor Cover Face Concealer Foundation Shade Range

The foundation comes with only 6 shades, which would be disappointing for those whose skin tone would not match any of them. 

Its 6 shade variations are as follows:
‎✅130 (Very Light): perfect for fair skin
‎✅140 (Light): light, natural beige shade
‎✅141 (Medium/Natural): shade that suits fair to medium skin tones.
‎✅151 (Dark/Ocher): dark beige/ocher shade 
‎✅162 (Control Color - Orange): color correction shade to hide dark spots, blue-toned imperfections, or dark circles.
‎✅171 (Control Color - Green): color correction to neutralize redness and acne spots

The shade I chose based on my skin tone is 151. I’ve read that it suits those with warm undertones like mine, and among the available options, it appeared to be the closest match.

Shade 151 is perfect for me; it’s neither too dark nor too light. It truly feels like a second skin. I’d also like to get my hands on the color-correcting shades soon, specifically 162 and 171.

TEXTURE & FORMULA

The foundation has a silky, smooth texture. It's very easy to apply and use on the skin. Plus, it blends easily, whether you are using a foundation brush or your bare hands. I have tried both, and they do work. 

It gets slightly creamy when exposed to heat, like when the weather is hot, but so far, it doesn't affect the way the foundation works or its formula. By the way, the product has a bit of *that makeup smell, but hardly noticeable. It's really faint, but it's there. 

LONGEVITY (WEAR TEST)

Above is a photo of my swatch in shade 151. It appears lighter when swatched, but once applied, it blends seamlessly into my skin.

I’ve worn this concealer foundation several times, and I love it. It doesn’t feel heavy or cakey on the skin. It blends well, is easy to apply, and has impressive staying power. I’ve worn it to various events that lasted for hours, and I was happy to see that my makeup still looked good even after long wear.
For reference, I don’t use setting spray. I personally feel like it’s something I don’t want to rely on, but that’s a discussion for another blog, lol.

However, during whole-day formal events, I layer my trusted concealer on top of the foundation. So far, they match and blend perfectly. In terms of coverage, I’m satisfied. Once applied, it gives me the feeling that my skin is already lightly powdered. My face looks smooth, and my skin tone appears even.
That said, it doesn’t fully cover acne marks or dark spots. If you have these concerns and want fuller coverage, the color-correcting shades might be a better option.

The concealer foundation cost me $19. The price may vary depending on where you purchase it. Since the product lasts a long time, I think it offers solid value for what it delivers.

If there’s one gift that would surely bring a smile to my face, it would probably be the new makeup. I’m not exactly adventurous when it comes to trying new brands of makeup, but if an opportunity arises for me to see if something works better than what I already have, then I wouldn’t pass up the chance to do it.

Recently, I got my hands on some products from Focallure, a makeup brand from China. I got them as gifts from a friend, and she swears by some of the items that she sent me. I have heard of the brand from a popular online shopping portal in the Philippines, but I haven’t tried any of them. I know most ladies would cringe at using products from a brand that is not exactly a household brand yet, but I don’t want to make my friend feel bad by not trying on some of the gifts she gave me. 

Below is a photo of the Focallure makeup my friend gave me. I have used the products occasionally, and I grew to love some of them, which is why I decided to write this review, apart from sharing an unbiased insight for each item. The products from Focallure come at affordable prices, so I can understand the hesitation of many beauty lovers to purchase and use any of them. However, I also believe that price isn’t the only way to know if one thing works or not.

Not knowing anything about Focallure, I decided to learn more about the brand, and what I’ve learned from its official website is that Focallure, pronounced as “Fo-co-llure”, is a cosmetic company that aims to bring out each person’s undiscovered beauty through the power of makeup. The brand was established in 2014 by a group of fun-loving makeup scientists who came together to make cosmetics unmatched in the industry. I wish there were more information about the brand itself, but I was glad to find that it has a viable website online.

Tinted Eyebrow Gel 

It wasn't long ago that I started using tinted eyebrow gels. Although I love how much time I can save using eyebrow pens, using eyebrow gels gives my eyebrows a more defined look. Also, it lasts longer than eyebrow pens. I love this gel from Focallure; it lasts long, and the color stays throughout the day. Plus, it's relatively cheaper compared to other eyebrow gel brands I have purchased in the previous year.

Gel Eye Liner (Black)

When I welcomed the new year, I told myself to be ready to try new things, including new and better products. Trying on gel eyeliner is one of the things that I've always loved trying, and I'm happy that I'm able to do it.

The gel eyeliner from Focallure does work. It has the right consistency, and it dries pretty. However, my eyelids being sweaty, I don't think this will work on my everyday makeup look since it takes time to put them on, and sadly, it smudges on a certain amount of wetness on the skin. Hence, I would not recommend this to those who have oily eyelids. Still, it's a great product, and you can still use it if you're not doing so much physical work.

     Hello friends! I hope you're doing all fine. It's been a while since I've blogged about a makeup product that I had so much fun doing. Don't get me wrong, I still love makeup a lot and enjoy putting them on, except during the long lockdown at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic when I didn't really have to go out a lot. Now that the restrictions have loosened up, I'm now able to enjoy putting full makeup on with one exception and that would be my lipstick. I still love having them on but when you have to wear a face mask most of the time, you'll have to give it up. 

    One makeup product that I always have with me is my eyebrow products. I would actually switch between my eyebrow pencil and my eyebrow gel. I love using both but recently, I've been using the eyebrow gel a lot as it stays longer which is really useful considering the summer weather that we are now enjoying in the Philippines.

    I got my eyebrow gel from Nichido which is a popular Filipino brand. It's nothing high-end if we are to look into the prices of their products, but a majority of what I've tried from them really works. If you're curious about its Japanese name, it's because the brand has some help from Japanese consultants. 

    Having been using the product for a while now, I thought about taking some photos of it and writing a short review about how it works. 

    And here's how I look like wearing the product. I know, I look tired as I didn't have much sleep when I took the photo but I just want to show you what the product looks like in natural light. My hair was still very dark when I had the photograph taken, but now that I am sporting a lighter shade, it still works well. Also, it lasts really long. I do apply a bit of eyebrow powder on top of it just to keep it within its shape, but it also works without it. 

    The product costs 291.00PHP. it was almost 5USD. Having used this for a few months, I do not have any issue with using the product. Considering how it works, I would say that I am satisfied with my purchase and I would happily recommend this to anyone.
