Mama's Girl

I do love my mom, but I must admit that we are not each other's best friend. Not because there is something going on between us, it's probably just because we are five (her children) which makes it a bit hard for her to focus on each of us. Needless to say, I'm no mama's girl.

While there are times that I feel a pang of jealousy towards those who are close with their moms, I'm cool with the relationship that I have with my mother. Though often times, I find myself wishing that we could also be each other's best friend. I mean, how cool would that be right?

I don't get to bond with my mother that much so I was really glad when my elder brother invited us to attend a family day celebration in his work. That time, I got to bond with my mom, hence she's the one who took all of the photos in this post. Well we actually took each others photographs and it was such a wonderful moment for me. You know I don't get to post an outfit post here in my blog partly because I don't have anyone who could take my photos. I was glad that mom was in a really good mood on that day and she was such a sport in listening to my direction on how and where to take my photos. hahaha
I wanted to create a formal/casual/comfortable outfit on that day because I know we will spend much of our time roaming around. I decided to wear my vintage looking dress for that formal vibe and opted to pair it with my black and white shoes from Parisian for added comfort. I didn't wear any accessory aside from my silver watch from Timex, which was my brother's birthday gift to me last year. Instead, I wore my favorite bowler hat from Watermelon and Company in an attempt to look more stylish. lelz
Christ and Cristine :)

Quick fact: I was named Cristine because of Christ as in Jesus Christ. I was born on December 20 which is a few days before Christmas which is why my parents (particularly my dad) decided to name me Cristine.

The funny thing is that whenever I type my name on Microsoft Word, it always come out as a word that is spelled wrong. For the reason, I asked my dad why he didn't placed an 'h' after C. He said he didn't place an 'h' on my name because it would be read as Christ (as Jesus Christ) tine, so he dropped the 'h'. lelz hahaha Let's take this time to pray for my dad's humor! hahaha
These photos makes me feel like a legit fashion blogger now. Just look at how good I am in doing that 'my head hurts' post. lmao Thanks a lot for reading and have a wonderful day! Pardon me if I don't translate fashion and style so well in this post. lol

  1. This vintage dress is so lovely, feminine and chic. You look so pretty and gorgeous. Such a great styling! I do like this look on you....and the street art you showed is so cool. I love grafitti and street art and these Jesus inspired murals are really beautiful.

I think your dad was right, Christina would sound a bit odd, especially if people would pronounce it as Christ-ina but I think no matter the spelling ( H or minus H) the people almost always pronounce it the same way, I never heard someone pronouncing it 'Kraistina', it's usually 'Kristina'.

p.s. love your hat and bag!

  2. Aside from that fabulous poses and that dress, I enjoyed reading the part about mum being your photographer. I won't be able to do that with my parents, ha,ha,ha. They will be embarass as I am not model like to be photographed.

I like the mix and match and even if I am not a girl, I learn many things from colours and designs on your blog. Keep it up! (Paranf teacher)

  9. Hi Tin!
Thank you for sharing your story about the relationship with your mom <3 For me, my mom is the most special person on the earth and she is definitely the closest person I have. I am so blessed to have such a good relationship with her & the fact that our interest match up is truly awesome. She does most of the outfit photography you can see on my blog. It was a long way of pointing her the directions and teaching her how the camera works, but she is almost a pro now :) Therefore, I surely understand the process you went through with your mom :) And she did a great job!
I really like the outfit you are wearing and, even though, we haven't seen many outfit posts from you, I do think that you are representing your style perfectly as this is surely something I imagined you wearing through your non fashion related posts.
Haha, your dad is awesome! Interesting story! :)
