Maybelline Great Lash Mascara Review

 I'm not a big fan of mascaras and falsies. I rarely use mascara on my eyelashes and I only wear falsies if I think it's necessary for me to use them. I make my eyes look more awake by wearing liquid eyeliner and wing it on the corners of my eyes, but I have to admit that nothing beats a mascara in making one's look fresher and more awake.

My makeup box lacks mascara so I bought one recently. I got myself the Maybelline's Great Lash Mascara in very black. I heard that Maybelline stopped distributing it for a while but recently it's back on the market again so I decided to give it a try.






PACKAGING
I love the packaging of the Great Lash mascara! Do I need to explain why? hehe Just look at its cute colors. I think it looks sweet and very attractive to the eyes. The sale lady told me that it has exactly the same packaging from the ones they sell abroad. True enough because translations from other languages were written in it. More details and information about the product were also written in the pack. The mascara is sleek and light weight which makes it easy to store.

PRICE
I bought my mascara for 350.00PHP that's 7.905USD . I think that's very affordable for a decent mascara.

WHERE TO BUY
Maybelline's Great lash mascara is available on Watsons nationwide. It is also available in the body essentials in some malls.

 THE WAND
The Great Lash's wand looks like the typical mascara wand. I don't find anything peculiar or special about it. Here's what it looks like:

I took some shots that could show you a before and after photos with my eyes using the mascara.

Photo 1. What my bare eyes looked like. As you can see, I do not have thick and curly lashes.

Photo 2. My eyelashes are really hard to curl because they are short. I slightly curled my lashes in the second photo and applied one coat of mascara. There is a difference of course, but it isn't dramatic.

Photo 3. In the last photo I didn't curl my lashes again. I just add few more coats of mascara. It's actually more than three coats and it's just how it looks like after.

PRO's
- affordable
- very lash lengthening
- comes in a great package
- very long lasting (can lasts up to 6-7 hours w/out any retouch)
- doesn't smudge

CON's
-not volumizing
- could be very hard to remove

Generally, considering that it's only for 350php, I think it works okay. Again it's more lash lengthening, so if you are looking for a volumizing mascara, then maybe you should look for another one. I personally think this mascara is great for everyday use or if you want that fresh and natural look. The best thing about the mascara is its longevity. It stays fo 6-7 hours on my lashes without smudging. That makes it very hard to remove, lol you might need a good makeup remover to remove the whole thing from your lashes.

    This mascara looks great, but personally I don't like mascaras which are hard to remove, but on the other hand it's very long lasting, which definitely is a big pro ;) And I really like the effect with 3 coat of this product :)

      Don't like mascaras that are so hard to remove too dear but I love how it stays long. Maybe it's perfect for an all night/day get up so no need to retouch hehee

    It is the same packaging as the one in the States. I've tried this mascara because of two co-workers who swear by it. Unfortunately, I also thought it was okay. It didn't do anything for my lashes. I would suggest Maybelline The Falsies! It's one of my favorite :)

      Yes, they're the same. I heard it's also the same in other parts of Europe like France. I had maybe the same experience too Aissa. Many girls from blogs and vlogs said it's 100% on fleek but it works just "okay" for me too. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll try to get my hands on that hehe

    Great review and photos. The results of this mascara are not spectacular, but for us that aren't blessed with voluminous and long eyelashes, I think they're good enough.

    My lashes are also hard to curl and they are not voluminous either. I don't wear a mascara every day and even when I do, I don't use always curl them. I use two mascaras from Essence ( get big lashes volume curl and get big lashes volume boost) Neither of them works miracles , but I'm happy with them. They make my eyes look more awake and that's all I look for.

    I heard good things about this maybelline mascara and I've been meaning to give it a try.

    Great review, Christine. I am happy the mascara worked for you. I was very disappointed with it, it did nothing but stuck my lashes together like a big clumpy mess, lol. My holy grail now is Miss Manga. If you got a chance, try the Miss Manga, the real one, NOT the punk Miss Manga, that one is horrible to say the least.

    I don't wear mascara everyday too. Only on special occasions. Mascara's really make your eyes dramatic and enhanced! :) Maybelline's a good brand. Thanks for sharing this! ;)

    I bought this too but haven't used it yet :D I've been reading lot of raves kasi and it's affordable for 350 okay na. Excited to use mine. Ganda ng effect sayo! Great to for brides since mukhang super smudgeproof siya.

    thanks for providing specific photos tin! cause ive been wanting to buy this for ages... as in nung year 2000 pa ata lmao. it was one of the pinaka sikat na mascaras before but youre right i think they discountinued this. i have a couple of maybelline mascaras back up at home but ill make sure to try this naman next time.
