Lorde Royals Inspired Makeup
Hello friends! today I have a quick and easy makeup tutorial for you. We all have our own ways to wear our everyday makeup so for a little spice, I'm trying to make a look inspired from Lorde's Royals music video.
When I first heard the song I really fell in love with it. I loved it more when I saw the music video. I love the beat and the concept and yes, who wouldn't notice Lorde's makeup? Her makeup on the video isn't something that is complicated but somehow it looks so powerful. What's more is that it is easy to wear. I feel like her makeup is great for night out or for any dramatic shots. So if you want to update your night out makeup, Lorde's makeup is perfect for you.
Since this is not a video tutorial, I will show you a step by step photographs that will serve as a guide on how to achieve the look. I already applied the necessary makeup on my face before doing my eyes including an eye shadow primer. I'm also done filling in my brows (although it doesn't look so visible on the step by step photos lol)
STEP 1
DRAW A TRIANGULAR LINE ON YOUR OUTER LIDS
Don't know how to describe it properly but just take a good look on the photo above. You may use your favorite gel eyeliner for it but on my case, I chose to use liquid eyeliner because I think it will last longer on my eyes.
STEP 2
COVER THE ENTIRE LINE WITH A BLACK PENCIL EYELINER
The pencil eyeliner will increase the longevity of the liquid eyeliner by setting it. You can also use it to correct the triangular lines if it is a little crooked. Don't forget to also line your lower lash line.
STEP 3
APPLY BLACK EYE SHADOW ABOVE THE EYELINERS
Using your blackest eye shadow, create like effect towards the inner lids of your eyes. Don't overdo it and keep the center of your lids clean.

This is what your eyes should look like when you open them.
STEP 4
APPLY MASCARA AND FALSE EYELASHES
I actually forgot to take a close up photo of my eyes with mascara and falsies, but you get the idea right? mascara + falsies. You may use any kinds of mascara and falsies that you want, but for this look I'm wearing a lash lengthening mascara and a natural looking falsies.
STEP 5
FINISH YOUR MAKEUP WITH A PINKISH NUDE LIPSTICK
A soft lip color is perfect for the eye makeup. Of course, you may also wear something bold if you want to but if you are going for the Royals inspired look, get a pinkish nude lipstick. I do not have a lipstick in that color so I used to different lipstick for this look.
FINISHED LOOK :)
Lorde's gorgeous hair is difficult for me to pull off as I have a naturally straight hair. I didn't use any curling iron for my hair because I was about to go to work after taking these photos lol But to channel my inner Lorde, I tease my hair a little bit.
Not trying to look exactly like Lorde because duhh there can never be any other Lorde! This is a perfect look for a night out or if you just want to feel like your own queen.
I hope you enjoyed this post everyone. Now grab your eyeliners and bring out the inner Lorde in you!
love lots,
Tin
