Why I Love Visiting Museums

They asked me why I love visiting museums.

They said those places are old, creepy and boring.

I’m gonna miss a confetti of fun staying there for so long,

they insist.

“It’s the walls”,
I simply answered.

My heart is contended with the way

the old forgotten stones

patiently kept and deconstructed

the things that are supposed to be.

Things like

the only past that I love to restore and repeat.

    "Confetti of fun." That's such a lovely way to put it. I love visiting museums, too and I still can't quite figure out why, but the feeling of reliving history, like you wrote, is exquisite. Lovely poem, Cristine!
