Cafe Sarree Review
Hello everyone! I hope you are all doing well. I'm still a little busy with my work, so bear with me if I cannot post anything for a period of time. I guess that's one downfall of being employed. Sometimes, it takes so much of your time and there will be times that not being able to meet your friends becomes a normal thing.
My bff Shie and I do not work for the same company anymore, so meeting each other now is challenging for us. Fortunately, we were able to find the perfect time and the only thing left for us to do is to look for the perfect place.
We have a list of to-go/to try cafes and restaurants so we just have to choose from what's on our list. We chose Cafe Sarree as our destination because we haven't visited the place and also, because we were both so curious about it. Blame Kryz Uy. hahaha
Cafe Sarree is a small food destination located in Cebu City. It's not a newly opened nor it is one of the most popular, but I must say it's a fairly good restaurant because of its very accessible location. Some restaurants in Cebu, although very worthy of visit, didn't get the hype they deserve because of their location.
Nothing's special about the interiors and the ambiance in Cafe Sarree. You cannot also find Instagram worthy spots except for the interesting photo wall in the second floor of the establishment. The whole place is simple but there's an air of elegance about it.
Talking about the sanitation of the place, it is not impressive at all. My friend and I saw a housefly when we placed our orders. We had no idea how on earth can a housefly went inside the cafe. lelz
Another thing, probably the thing that I hated most about Cafe Sarree, is their smelly bathroom. Di yata uso air freshener sa kanila. I know it's normal for a bathroom to have a smell, but in Cafe Sarree grabe lang, can't take it. Nakakasakit ng ulo. I even held my breath when I peed because the smell is too strong.
My psycho date Shie :p That's exactly how she looks like when she orders food haha
Here we are with that makati ang ulo ko pose hahaha
Let's take a break from our craziness and talk about the foods served in Cafe Saree. We didn't order much because we just came from another restaurant. We literally just went there to try their foods (and take photos) hahahaha.
245php - korean radish, dill, scallions, and aragula leaves flavored with mustard mayo and house dressing
240php - deep fried breaded pork cutlets drizzled with mushroom sauce
The garlic rice that came with it is just a simple cooked white rice with some crushed garlic as its toppings.
135 php
Our gastronomical experience in Cafee Sarree isn't mind boggling or any special. Despite that, we enjoyed our time in the cafe and we do not have any regrets going there. They had a variety of foods and drinks to try and most of them might be worth it.
Considering the fact that most of their foods are not that expensive, I'm sure many people will enjoy visiting the place. I also love the fact that there are variety of healthy choices in their menu. It is one of the things that I commend about Cafe Sarree. I just hope their bathroom would smell better than before. lol At sana wala ng langaw haha
Cafe Sarree is located at Block 9 , Bldng A Escario Central , N. Escario St

good to hear from you also Sybil!
I like arugula but bread and potato chips together, hmmmm.... The tables remind me of an Apple store in here while the frames, were they intentionally hanged crooked? Anyway, one day I will go and visit Cebu as you have so many postings re its restos and cafes.
ReplyDeletehahaha yea, I think so Sir, but maybe it's just my shots! eehhe
DeleteOh a stinky potty and an extra waiter with wings?!?! Those are scary signs for a restaurant. Of course, some of my favorite places to eat barely pass the health code here :) So funny that you guys are just visiting here after already eating. I was just joking today with someone about how important a meal second lunch is :) Good luck at work! xoxo

DeleteThis restaurant looks amazing and I totally agree with you that some restaurants because of their bad location don't get as much hype as much they deserve! But it's great that you shared with your visit in Cafe Sarree, because personally I prefer small restaurants, which are hidden, like this one :) And I see that it has delicious food and look at the coffee drink, I'm sure it tasted amazing :)

The place looks promising but definitely a big let down, thanks to their smelly comfort rooms and flies loitering around! :(

It was a well written review Tin! I, personally, love when the owners of the cafe or a restaurant have put thought in interior and decor! I know that the most important part of a restaurant is the food, but I love to be in a beautiful and well thought out atmosphere as well!
ReplyDeleteI would love to try out that coffee drink- it surely looks very delicious! :)

I wouldn't hold the fly against them! They are sneaky insects that get in everywhere. The bathroom smell, however, is a considerable minus. If you have to hold your breath while you're in there, it can't be good.
ReplyDeleteHowever, the food doesn't look bag. As I undersood, the salmoon was good and so was pork...and the coffee drink is one of the best you ever had! The prices are affortable and the decor is simple and elegant. Well, this cafe sarree does sound like a place to visit, doesn't it! As long as we come with an empty bladder!
How have you been my dear friend? Thank you so much on the comment you left me.

hehehe i hate smelly bathrooms as well. its one of the things that really turns me off in restaurants. i feel like there are a hundred cafes in cebu na :) you make me wanna visit cebu again, sis pwede ka maging travel enabler nakakaencourage puntahan the places you feature <3
ReplyDeleteOMG, di ko kinaya ang bathroom, accepted ko pa if mga saktong resto lang or public places pero for a cafe, it's a no no. I hope they improve that. I wanna try White Rabbit too! :D Sayang talaga when I was offered a free travel to Cebu, ikaw una kong naalala kaso it was the same date with John Prats wedding where we were one of the makeup teams. I hope to see you soon!
