EVER BILENA MATTE LIQUID LIPSTICK IN SIENNAS (REVIEW)

EVER BILENA MATTE LIQUID LIPSTICK IN SIENNAS (REVIEW)
I've been fond of lipsticks ever since I started using one. That was five or six years ago when I was in college. Over the years, I have tried various lipsticks from different brands and in different colors. However, most of them are in red, orange, violets and browns. I only have one pink shade in my collection. I have so many of them in my humble collection, but I  often use the red ones. I just love how red makes me feel and how it can go with any outfit. My favorite red lipstick is the one called Russian Red from MAC Cosmetics.

The reason why I don't collect and use pink lipsticks before is that I feel like it doesn't suit me and my personality. chos! I used to find pink too girly and too light for my skin tone. Recently though, I've started wearing something pink on my lips, and I LOVE it! I posted a photo of me online wearing a particular lipstick in the pink shade and I was glad to receive many compliments about it. I guess I've found the perfect pink shade for me. That lipstick is called Siennas from my favorite local cosmetics brand Ever Bilena. And because I love sharing what's good on my blog, I'll be sharing my thoughts about it in this post. Dive in below to see more photos!
EVER BILENA MATTE LIQUID LIPSTICK IN SIENNAS (REVIEW)
Product Description:
A velvety matte liquid lipstick that lasts long on the lips. Provides an intense, vibrant and bold color on the lips and it contains ingredients that help moisturize lips.

PACKAGING
The liquid lipstick is simply packaged in a tight plastic seal. No box, no extra packaging styles. It's similar to the usual drugstore lip products that we see. It also comes with an applicator. The product's ingredients and manufacturing details are all written on the tube together with the name of the brand and its shade.

PRICE
Ever Bilena is selling their liquid lipsticks for only 185.00php. A very affordable price for most Filipinas. I bought mine in one of their beauty outlets in a local mall.

SWATCH
What I love most about this lipstick is its shade. It is, of course, pink but it has a little bit of brownish tone in it which makes it a good pink color for those who have tan skin color. It looks a bit light or brownish in the photograph above but how I can describe its color in person is brownish-pink. Somewhat like 80% pink and 20% brown.

Here's a photo of me wearing the lip product:
(I look fair in the photo, but my skin gets darker easily when the weather is too hot, especially these days where we are enjoying the summer season in the Philippines.)

💐PRO's:
🌸- matte but moisturizing at the same time (it never made my lips feel dry)
🌸- long-lasting ( it could last up to 4 hours w/out any re-touch, considering of course, if you aren't eating something too oily)
🌸- available in various shades
🌸- affordable
🌸- great color and pigmentation

💐CON's:
🌼- has a strong smell (I don't have a problem with it but if you're sensitive to the smell of your product, then you may not like it that much
🌼- could be a bit sticky ( but it's not bothering since it's tolerable)

I am very satisfied with it and I'd be more willing to buy another liquid lipstick from Ever Bilena and try the other shades. I have reviewed a similar product but in a different shade and I often wear it too. I switch from Siennas to Toast of New York a lot. I also like mixing Siennas with my other lip colors and I love how they turned out! Some drugstore products would make you hesitant to purchase it but this one's a real staple. I hope this review helps if you are looking for a local and affordable lipstick in the Philippines. Let me know your thoughts about this product if you've tried it before.

P.S Sorry I haven't been blogging a lot for quite some time. I've been really busy with my graduate studies which include studying Spanish. whew! It was quite confusing, but I love the experience. Shoutout to the awesome Pablo Parra of heyfungi.com for helping me with my Spanish class. Hola Pablo! :D Do check out his amazing blog, it was brimming with art and passion! I've also shot and recorded some videos for my other classes and literature and that was RIGID! hahaha See you around beautiful creatures! Will be sharing you some of my travel experiences soon.

love lots,

Palm Grass Hotel remembers 1898 Cebu Revolution with heart-warming film

Palm Grass, Cebu’s only heritage hotel, as part of its Heritage Awareness Campaign, offers a series of firsts to the public in commemoration of the 120th year of the Cebu Revolution vs. Spain.

On May 20, 2018, Cebuanos mark the 120th anniversary of the second phase of the 1898 Cebu Revolution, when Cebu Katipunan leader Heneral Luis Flores regrouped the Cebu Katipuneros after a temporary setback upon Leon Kilat’s murder on April 8, 1898.

This May 20, 2018, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Hawanan Tres de Abril, Palm Grass will hold a special screening of the short fiction film, “Kinasing” by video creator Prospero Laput of Hong Kong-based Asia-Pacific Focus Features, in cooperation with Palm Grass Hotel and Cebu students.

This will be the first time in Cebu that a short fiction film would tackle the modern-day relevance of the 1898 Cebu revolution, where a fictional descendant of Heneral Luis Flores meets a lovely puso-maker from Pasil.

Puso, specifically, the kinasing, is the central object in this short film and is used to highlight a historical context and progression.

In this film, the puso-makers are honored in a song based on a poem, that tells about their pains, struggles, dreams and journey towards a better society. Young Cebuano artists composed, arranged and interpreted the song.

In addition, students from two state universities, mga Iskolar ng Bayan of Cebu Normal University and the University of the Philippines-Cebu, are a huge part of this film production as they are involved from writing the script, casting, and crewing the short film.

“It’s a real challenge to organize a short-film production with very fresh talents who either just graduated from school or are still in school.  But somehow community-driven projects like this are getting to be a familiar terrain in my marketing and communications content creation portfolio.  And Palm Grass did an excellent job in organizing the kids into a formidable indie film crew!” says Laput.

In March 2018, Palm Grass Hotel, with UP-Cebu alumnus Prospero Laput of Asia-Pacific Focus Features, led workshops on Motion Graphics and Video Creation participated in by the selected University of the Philippines-Cebu and University of San Carlos students. The workshops were able to produce two videos on the 1898 Cebu Revolution vs. Spain.

Palm Grass, the Cebu Heritage Hotel, is facilitating awareness on the 1898 Cebu Revolution by hosting and leading the community, especially the youth, in creative ways to relive this nearly forgotten period in Cebu history.

Two Decades Ago

Cristine Despares

Is this really the way,
Is this really the way
Our lives go?
Back when we were three,
We rejoice over rainbow popsicles
and gentle tickles.
And though there were monsters under our beds
We feel safe under plastic stars and bedtime reads.
We don't care about the chocolates between our teeth.
We solo dance in every parties, oh we never got cold feet
But that was long ago

That was two decades ago
Two decades ago
Oh break the clock
Don't keep it intact
Please take me back
Two decades ago
Two decades ago

Is this really the way
Is this really the way
Our lives go?
We started hanging out with a friend.
We realize we got older than ten.
Then I don't know why
But we say 'bye' faster than we say 'hi'
Oh, we got bluer than the April sky.
Far from when we were three,
When our folks are content and proud
Just to hear us sing our ABCs out loud
But that was long ago

That was two decades ago
Two decades ago
Oh break the clock
Don't keep it intact
Please take me back
Two decades ago
Two decades ago

Oh, oh-ho~ two decades ago
When we weigh more than our weight, school grades, and medals
When we matter more than who we are on the phone
When trust is thicker than our payslips
I never said this before and show
But I never want to grow old nor let time further go
When I was three and free
two decades ago
But that was long ago
That was two decades ago
Oh break the clock
Don't keep it intact
Please take me back
Two decades ago

Hello beautiful creatures! Written above is a song (technically, it's not a song because it doesn't have a melody, but I'd like to call it one because I sing it when I read it) I just finished writing a week ago. I don't feel exactly well for quite some time and the pain makes me reminisce about my childhood. Though it isn't perfect, it feels way better than today.
Here's to growing old!

love lots,
Tin
