Kizuna Aesthetic Center By Dr. Select Brings Advance Japanese Technology on Skincare to Cebu

With so many skincare and beauty clinics popping everywhere, it is getting harder for people to find one they can actually trust in terms of quality and authenticity.

It is this kind of guarantee that Kizuna Aesthetic Center By Dr. Select is bringing to Cebuanos as they open their first ever clinic at the Robinsons Galleria Cebu.

Kizuna Aesthetic Center By Dr. Select is offering new and advance Japanese technology in its machines and services and that’s what sets them apart from all the other beauty clinics.

Dr. Kentaro Ono, a plastic surgeon from Fujieda, Japan, has partnered with Dr. Hope Valerie Solano, a certified dermatologist and a diplomate of the Philippine Dermatological Society (PDS) in establishing Kizuna Aesthetic Center By Dr. Select.

“Cebuanos can expect that our ingredients and medical solutions are of high quality and advance technology from Japan. We hired a Japanese aesthetician to give everyone the same techniques used by our sister company, Fujieda Skin Clinic,” Dr. Solano shared.

Dr. Solano, dermatologist, and Moie Fujimoto, who is a certified aesthetician in Japan, are the mainstays at Kizuna Aesthetic Center By Dr. Select. Both of them have been sent to Japan for formal training on the technologies they use in the center.

The Mediline Radiofrequency is the most advanced multipolar, non-surgical wrinkle reduction, facial rejuvenation, and body contouring of Kizuna Aesthetic Center By Dr. Select. This machine melts fats and cellulites, stimulates collagen, and tightens loose skin.

On the other hand, the Ultimate Facial Aqua Medication consists of different features that include water peeling which cleans the pores and removes blackheads; carbonic acid facial which exfoliates skin and improves skin oxygen levels, and makes skin brighter with a more uniform tone.

The radiofrequency contours and firms the face for glowing and tight skin while the electroporation infuses serum with the choice of anti-aging, whitening, and anti-acne.

Kizuna Aesthetic Center By Dr. Select’s other services include laser hair removal; botox; hyaluronic acid fillers; mesotherapy; injectables of glutathione, placenta and Vitamin C; chemical peels; cauterization of warts; acne scar treatments; pimple treatments; skin cancer detection; and consultation for skin, hair, scalp, hair fall and nail problems.

“The Cebuano market is very discriminating and value-conscious of the services and the quality of treatments. They are more conscious that it is important to seek advice from a certified doctor under the Philippine Dermatological Society,” Dr. Solano said about the local market.

GIVING BACK TO CEBU

Dr. Solano and Dr. Ono first met in 2016 through a common friend. Since then, they started sharing techniques and Dr. Ono and his consultants also introduced Dr. Select Beauty Products.

Dr. Select prides itself in always discovering the most advance technology that makes healthy skin in the medical beauty industry.

As of now, more than 10,000 beauty salons, clinics, and companies are using Dr. Select products in Japan alone.

But aside from that, they also have customers in China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Russia, USA, and Australia, among others.

Last April 2019, Dr. Solano was invited to see all the aesthetic clinics in Japan that was associated with the Japanese consultants, and that was when they proposed to open one in Cebu.

It was a no-brainer for them to choose Cebu since Dr. Ono’s personal advocacy is to reach out to Cebuanos and share his knowledge and expertise.

Back in the 1980s, Dr. Ono was an exchange student at the Sacred Heart for Boys High School and stayed for a year in Cebu.

In fact, the word “Kizuna” actually means “connection” or “bond between the Japanese and Filipino.”

With their tagline “Kizuna: Your Bond with Beauty,” Kizuna Aesthetic Center By Dr. Select will be on soft opening starting this Sunday, November 24, 2019.

Their 200-square meter clinic is located at the Basement 2 of Robinsons Galleria Cebu. The clinic will have eight staff.

Kizuna Aesthetic Center By Dr. Select is also the exclusive distributor of Dr. Select Products which can be purchased at the Center with advice from their dermatologist.

How do you 'Give Love' on Christmas? Let Bo's Coffee count the ways

Bo's Coffee Christmas Reloadable Card
The song "Give Love On Christmas Day" talks about trying to find a present that is better than anything you get from a store.

At Bo's Coffee, the holidays are all about "Give Love," as coffee lovers can find ways to show love for others in different forms and ways.

The Filipino-owned chain of coffee shops recently launched its holiday campaign, which urges people to spend time with loved ones over through get-togethers, celebrations over a sumptuous feast, and gift giving.

This is truly reflective with Bo's Coffee’s holiday offers, where you can show love and "Give Love" by gifting family members and loved ones with something special this season—like embracing them with the warmth of coffee.

"Our gift merchandise aims to give impact to our local farmers and social enterprise partners in a positive way," said Bo’s Coffee CEO Steve Benitez.
Bo's Coffee Christmas Reloadable Card
Bo's Coffee Christmas Reloadable Card
Bo's Coffee is introducing its Reloadable Card and Planner, both of which highlight the beauty and uniqueness of the Philippines and its coffee.

Philippine weave designs have been incorporated into Bo's Coffee's holiday designs like in the cups. Philippine coffee, as shown in the glass sticker, is actually the coffee plant that has been transformed into a Christmas wreath.

As a way of giving back to its roots, Bo’s Coffee incorporates the symbols and elements of Sagada and Philippine coffee to its Coffee Card design. The design includes Sagada's scenery and the weave pattern of the Cordillera Autonomous Region. The details on the card are hand-painted. Also highlighted are first of the five Philippine coffee origins—Matutum, Kitanglad, Apo, and Benguet.

The Bo's Coffee Planner, which comes in Black and Maroon (the brand's colors), also highlights the elements of the Philippine flag and coffee. Some of the planner cover elements are hand drawn to focus on Filipino artistry and there are indigenous weaves in the pattern. The Bo's Coffee Planner is nationalistic, well-designed and functional and is your perfect partner for 2020.

You can get the Bo's Coffee Planner, Electronic Gift Certificates and other rewards by earning points through the Bo’s Coffee Mobile Application, which is another part of the brand's digital initiatives.

Aside from selected gift merchandise and the new Bo's Coffee Card, included in the Bo's Coffee's "Give Love" holiday campaign are the Single Serve Philippine Coffee, merchandise available in stores, and the Holiday Beverages: Dark Mocha Macadamia Froccino, Mocha Hazelnut Froccino and Almond ButtercrunchFroccino. For pastries, included are Chocolate Mousse Cake and Queso de Bola Cheesecake.

The Bo's Coffee holiday beverages also incorporate flavors that can be traditionally found in Christmas setting. The Dark Mocha Macadamia is a blend of dark chocolate, coffee and macadamia.
Almond ButtercrunchFroccino has caramel, nut, chocolate and coffee while Mocha Hazelnut Froccino is a blend of hazelnut spread and coffee.
Bo's Coffee Christmas Reloadable Card
Bo's Coffee is a Filipino-owned enterprise founded in Cebu in 1996. It has over 100 branches in the Philippines.  Bo's Coffee is known for sourcing its coffee beans from farmers in Sagada, Mountain Province, Mt. Kitanglad in Bukidnon, Mt. Matutum in South Cotabato and Mt. Apo in Davao.

Bakku2Basik's Coco Cider Vinegar Soap: A Review

Bakku2Basik Coco Cider Vinegar Soap
It wasn't only until last year since I started taking a skin-deep introspection on the products that I use in my skin. I love makeup - that's a fact, and while I'm not yet using 100% cruelty-free makeup products, I am trying my best to start with my skincare. Gearing towards sustainable choices led me to use organic and cruelty-free soap, shampoos, and conditioners. Aside from its benefits by having zero harmful chemicals, it's a big bonus that organic products do not use plastics in their packaging.

When my dear blogger friend Cyki Nikki, invited me for a beauty and wellness product launch at Dohera Hotel, I took the executive decision to say yes and attend the event. Viola! It was all worth it when I found out that the products have well-grounded roots on natural skincare protection and treatments.

Founded by passionate individuals, Bakku2Basik, the Manila-based skincare brand is born out of a purposeful conversation over skincare which is absent amongst other skincare lines. Leveraging on the beauty of organic ingredients, B2B aims to provide well-researched organic skincare products. From Manila with love, Bakku2Basik's coco Cider Soap is now in Cebu and is ready to share its wonders with the Cebuanos.
Bakku2Basik Coco Cider Vinegar Soap
Their main product is the Coco Cider Vinegar Soap is mostly made out of organic coco cider vinegar (with Mother) and activated charcoal. The soap is great for the face and for the body. Because it is mainly made out of natural, unfiltered, and raw coco cider vinegar with mother, it won't damage the skin, unlike other beauty and cleansing soaps. Coco cider is made out of the flower sap of coconut trees. After 8-12 months of fermentation, it turns into vinegar. It is a rich source of various nutrients and minerals. Exactly like the more popular apple cider vinegar, coconut vinegar is considered a functional ‘superfood’ because it has healing benefits beyond its nutritional content. When compared to apple cider vinegar, however, a coconut simply has more nutrients than an apple, thus offering a naturally higher source of minerals and phytonutrients.

Activated charcoal, a fine black powder, made from bone char, coconut shells, peat, petroleum coke, coal, olive pits or sawdust. The charcoal is "activated" by processing it at very high temperatures. Both of these ingredients can contribute to the total wellness of our skin. The combination of both made BsB's soap more powerful than other products available in the market.  It is also paraben and fragrance-free. Aside from its skin rejuvenation and anti-aging properties, it is also beneficial in treating some skin diseases like psoriasis and melasma.

I had the chance to use B2B's coco cider vinegar soap, and I just have to review how it is. Knowing that it is made of natural ingredients, I didn't hesitate using it. I also asked my brother and sister to use it to see if the product really works on different skin types.

Product Description & Claims:
This is the only product that contained two of the most powerful based ingredients in skin whitening/brightening.  It is naturally extracted and it is paraben-free (which means no preservatives content), fragrance-free and it is good for all skin type and irritated skin.

Its ingredients are well researched and well-thought-of as it aims to boost skin defense against some form of bacteria and fungi (which other soaps could not do) as well as reduces skin infestations such as body odor and pimples.
Bakku2Basik Coco Cider Vinegar Soap
PACKAGING:
There is nothing over-the-top with how the soap was packaged. The soap is in a simple plastic container and a good quality paper box. I like that it's being sustainable with its packaging but functional at the same time. Significant details such as the product's ingredients, manufacturing date & place, direction, and storage were all written in the box.

PRICE:
The retail price of Coco Cider Soap is P200 per piece. B2B ships in a minimum order of 3 pieces with a base shipment cost of P50 if the delivery address is just within Zamboanga City and P100 if it is outside Zamboanga City. (Message their Facebook account linked below for International orders :) The soap is 135 grams. It does not come in other sizes.

WHERE TO BUY?
You may purchase the soap directly via their Facebook account or to one of their certified distributors and sellers.
Bakku2Basik Coco Cider Vinegar Soap
The soap is only available to one size, but I think it would make everyone happy because it is just enough for its price and because it can be divided into several pieces. Something that you can use yourself for some time or share with your loved ones!

Above is a photograph showing the soap's thickness while here is a photo showing the soap beside a one peso coin for size reference. It's really huge compared to other soaps in the market.
Bakku2Basik Coco Cider Vinegar Soap
It's been a couple of weeks since I have tried the soap and here are a list of what I like most and least about it:
🌿🧼💚🥥 What I Like About the Soap🌿🧼💚🥥
- made of organic ingredients
- has a good "clean" smell
- effectively removes/prevents the body odor
- proven and tested safe for everyone including children 3 yrs. old and above
- sold at affordable price
- doesn't dissolve easily
- no "peeling" effects
-Halal Certified
- FDA approved

🌿🧼💚🥥 What I Like Least About the Soap🌿🧼💚🥥
- none so far :)

In totality, I love the Coco Cider Soap from B2B Manila. What I love most about the product is its efficacy when it comes to preventing body odor. Let's be real, we all use deodorant products which are actually very damaging to our skin. From my experience, the soap really prevents body odor, but not for a whole-day period. I like that its users could really get the most out of their money using the product as it really doesn't dissolve easily. I have sliced one soap into four for my siblings because I want them to try it as well.

My ten-year-old brother is using it for his pimple. He is almost a teenager so a pimple grew on his nose and it really bothers him. Knowing that the product claims to help remove/prevent pimples, I let him use the soap. We did notice that the pimple reduced in size, but for almost 2 weeks of use, it hasn't gone off completely. I'll update this blog once it's all gone!

The product also claims to have a significant whitening effect but I don't really feel like I got whiter in any sense from using it. Note that I do have fair skin already so it's difficult for me to say that I got fairer because of the soap. My brother has a warmer skin tone and we haven't really noticed that his skin got lighter. He is also using the product for his face. Similarly, he has been using the product for a couple of weeks so maybe it needs more time.

All in all, I really love the soap.
As a consumer, I definitely recommend it primarily because it's organically made and done using locally-sourced ingredients. I'll be updating this blog as soon as I noticed significant improvement on my skin in terms of its whitening power. Bakku2Basik has other sustainable products in line which I would all love to try. I'm actually planning to order some of their products as gifts for the holiday season.

Have you heard about Bakku2Basik and its products? Which one would you like to try?
I hope this blog helps should you want to try Bakku2Basik's Coco Cider Vinegar Soap.
Meanwhile, don't hesitate to visit their official Facebook and Instagram accounts for more queries. In those are testimonials and unpaid reviews about the product.

love lots,
Tin

Maybelline Superstay Matte Ink in Voyager Review

It's been a while since I've posted a review for a makeup product, but I never stopped doing one of the things I love most about it - trying new products! As I have mentioned before, I have an immense adoration for lipsticks. If you've been on my blog, you would notice that most of my makeup reviews were about lipsticks. What can I do? A girl does what she loves to do! In fact, my latest makeup product review highlights one of my current favorites which is Maybelline's SuperStay Matte Ink Liquid Lipstick in the shade Seeker. I have nothing but positive feedback about the product. Hence, I bought another lipstick from a similar line, but this time in another hue.
Maybelline has a wide array of shades available for their SuperStay liquid lipsticks but since I am so into fall-inspired makeup, I wanted to try something dark, bold, and spicy looking. You can have it all in a lipstick, right? With such things in mind, I tried Maybelline's Superstay Matte Ink liquid lipstick in Voyager. I love the shade "Seeker" which I have tried, reviewed, and tested so I was hoping that this would also give me the same good outcomes. Hence, this review is created!
Product Description:
SuperStay Matte Ink™ Liquid Lipstick gives you a flawless matte finish in a range of supersaturated shades.
Claim:
Ink your lips in up to 16 HR saturated liquid matte. SuperStay Matte Ink™ features a unique arrow applicator for precise application and is available in a range of supersaturated shades.

Packaging:
The lipstick came in a vacuumed plastic seal. The material that holds the product is all made out of plastic but it's fine. I like that its overall package can be stored and stacked with other lipsticks easily.

Price:
I bought mine from an online shopping platform called Shoppee and it costs 299php ($5.81). On their website, it costs around $9.00 plus their shipping fee. I would say that the price is good and just fine for a drugstore lipstick all while considering its quality.
The shade Voyager is a vampy combination of deep red, with a dash of black and violet. It's perfect for a fall-inspired, vampire look, and vintage roaring 20s-inspired look. Though it may be too overwhelming for everyday use, I love its quality and I think it's still a good wear if you are enjoying winter somewhere around the globe.
Here's what Voyager looks like on my skin without filter:
Now here's what it looks like when worn. I took this photo on normal daylight without any filter.
All in all, I am happy with the lipstick and the shade that I got. I would recommend the product to those who would love to wear something that is long-lasting and very pigmented. I know that most problems from matte lipsticks pertain to dryness. From my experience, it would feel dry and crusty if you are somewhere in very low temperature. However, the lipstick does not feel crazy dry so I think that if you're moisturizing your lips now and then, this would be a great lip product for everyone.

💐PRO's:
🌹available in so many shades
🌹very pigmented
🌹affordable and can easily be bought anywhere especially online
🌹lasts long (the product doesn't bleed or budge once it has settled on the lips); for this shade, I also noticed that this is harder to remove compared to the lighter shades available

💐CON's:
🥀May get a little dry when you're somewhere cold

Have you tried this lipstick before? What are your thoughts about Maybelline lipsticks? Let me know in the comments section below.

love lots,
Tin

Paref Springdale Boys’ Choir To Hold Christmas Concert

The PAREF Springdale Boys Choir, together with the Springdale Community Orchestra, and Ms. Donna Cruz-Larrazabal, will be performing at a Christmas Concert to be held at Guangming Institute of Fine Arts, V. Rama Avenue on December 7, 2019, at 6:00 P.M.

This upcoming concert will be in preparation for the choir's anticipated participation in Sing 'N' Pray Kobe 2020 International Choir Festival and Competition in Kobe, Japan on January 16-19, 2020.

The PAREF Springdale Boys Choir, one of the country's youngest, was established in 2016 as part of the diverse extra-curricular music programs of PAREF Springdale School. The choir aims to teach students the basics of choral singing and to foster a love and appreciation for the art form.

In-charge of the group is Mr. Mark Axel B. Melecio, the school's Head Music Teacher, who also helms the PAREF Springdale Boys Choir as their Conductor, and has been in charge of the boys' training from the choir's inception to the present day.

The International Choir Festival in Kobe, Japan will be the first time these talented, homegrown, young gentlemen will perform in an event such as this; representing not just their school, but their hometown of Cebu as well. And in the spirit of the school's motto: "Bene Omnia Facere," these boys do indeed strive to "Do All Things Well."
