DIY Book Clutch

   Whenever I think of posting a DIY tutorial on my blog, I always think of posting something unique. Well I couldn't say that it's entirely original, but I would like to share something that is not that ubiquitous or common.

     I've said before that I'd love to share something easy for my DIYs here in my blog. However, this one isn't something that you might consider easy because this requires a lot of patience. I am somebody who needs to attend more workshop about patience, so I gave this one a shot. Moreover, this DIY is for all the book lovers out there and I happen to be one, so being able to accomplish this project is a real dose of happiness for me.
     If you adore books and fashion, well here's a DIY for you!

WHAT YOU NEED:
- A book cover 
(You will need something from a book that is thick and hardbound. You don't have to buy something new, an old one will do and please don't throw the book once you are done with your project,read it! :)
-Zipper 
(Look for a zipper that has a similar/somewhat similar length to the book you will be using. It would be best if you can find a zipper that will get along with the color of your fabric.)
-Fabric 
(You can actually choose any fabric that you like but I would suggest to choose something that is lightweight because we will be using fabric glue which makes it easier to stick. You are also very much free to choose whatever print you like or if you want it plain.)
-Needle & Thread
(Use a thread that will go together with the color of your fabric. In my case, I used a black thread.)
-Fabric Glue
-Scissors
-Cutter

DIRECTIONS:
Step 1.
Using a cutter, separate the book pages from it's cover. Be careful with this one for you not to hurt yourself. You may ask someone to help you with this if you find this step hard. But, seriously it's not that difficult to separate the two.
Step 2.
Once you have your book cover with you, cover it with the fabric of your choice using a fabric glue. Of course, you need to measure the size of your book cover so you'll know how much fabric do you need to cover it. And please do not throw away the book itself, you may keep it with you and read it :)
Also, if you feel like the book cover isn't hard enough, you may glue a thick cardboard on top of it before covering the whole thing with a fabric. That will make the book cover more durable.
Step 3.
Measure a piece of fabric with the same length as the sides of your book cover. That includes all the sides of it. Cut it into 4 inches wide then divide it into two, which is 2 inches each.
Step 4.
Attach you fabric and your zipper together by sewing them. You may use a sewing machine, but in my case, I hand sew them. My zipper isn't long enough to cover all sides of my book cover, so I have to take two pieces of fabric with the size of 2x3 inches to compensate the space on both sides. (see first photo below) You don't have to do it if your zipper is long enough to cover the other ends of your book cover. You may proceed to the next step if that's your case.
Step 5.
Once you are done sewing all the fabrics that you need, you may start gluing them on both sides of your book cover. The last step is for you to cover the inside of your book clutch to cover the fabrics that you have glued in it. That is to make the inside of your clutch appear more neat.

You may use a fabric to cover the inside of your clutch, or anything else. For my clutch, I use a page from the book that I used. It is a picture of a yacht in a vast ocean and I just love it! (see second photo below)

Viola! You may now use your very own book clutch!

    I am crazy about this project and I think of enough words to say to describe what I felt after making this DIY. This DIY involves so much patience and hardwork, but this is so worth it once it's all done. This diy project is perfect as a gift to yourself or to someone who is worth all of your time and effort.

My Zalora Haul + Shopping Experience

       Recently, I signed up for ZaloraPH, an online shopping destination that provides an impressive collection of clothing apparel, shoes, necklaces and much more.      I bought the shoes primarily to increase my motivation to strive to be fit and also because I do not have a sports shoes yet. So far I am loving how the shoes fit in my shoes. It stayed true to the size indicated on the website and it's very comfortable to wear.

     What I really plan before is to buy an all black or a black and white colored shoes from Nike, but when I saw the shoes above, I immediately fell in love with it. Not only because it was on sale at that time, but also because of the tiny hint of color in it. I am very satisfied with my purchase and I am more determined to do more exercise routine with my new shoes.

    As have read on the info. above, I only paid 2,050.00 for the shoes and that's because Zalora gives you 300php off if it's your first time shopping with them. How cool is that right?

As what I've said above, I also bought a tote bag from Zalora. Although I couldn't say that it is very durable, I must say that the bag looks really good. I also think it is very functional. It can go along with a sophisticated or a casual look. I am planning to feature the bag in an ootd post soon so stay tune for that one.

     I also love the fact that the bag can be worn as a shoulder bag or as a hand bag. That's because you can easily detach thee sling that comes along with. The only thing that I didn't like about the bag is absence of a zipper in the main part inside the bag. But, nevertheless it's fine with me.

     Forgive me because I can not direct you to the link of the bag because it s no longer available. I guess the bag's already sold out. Don't worry though, because there are a lot of other bags in Zalora that works and looks fine as well. 

My Shopping Experience with ZaloraPH

     I enjoyed my shopping experience in Zalora. I thought my orders won't arrive on the day they promised but, fortunately it did! My doubt started when I sent them an email asking if I could change the mode of my payment. I got a confirmation email that they will send me a reply about my query in 24 hours. A day passed by but I still didn't received any reply from them. I got pissed and sent the another email asking why I never got any reply from my query. It was at that time that they gave me a clear answer to my question. They said they weren't able to send me a reply because the person assigned to do it was absent. Kaloka! It wasn't a very big deal but, are there no other people who can sub to the job of that certain person? I don't know. 

    In the end I was ecstatic because the package did arrived on the day it was promised. Another good thing about their delivery service is that the delivery guy will send you a text message to inform you if he is on his way to delivery your package. Also, you can pay for everything you've shopped by cash on delivery. No hassle in sending your payment to any bank or money transfer services if you are lacking time.

Bridal Inspired Makeup

      I have written some of my thoughts about bridal dresses in the past. I have also shared to you some of my favorite wedding dresses but never my thoughts about bridal makeup yet. For me, a bridal makeup must be fresh, soft, simple and ethereal. I love looking at photos where brides look closest to their natural appearance. What I mean is that I love it when brides don't wear something too heavy on their face that will alter their faces so much, even though they also look good on it.

      Last year, I was so lucky to be able to do a bridal inspired makeup. Oh no, I didn't do it on an actual bride. I did it on my best friend Sam for her birthday photo shoot. I asked Sam what makeup look is her peg and what's the theme of her birthday pictorial. Sam said she wanted something soft, fresh and simple. I then said to her, "Something like a bridal makeup?". My best friend replied, "Yes,something like that!". I immediately went over my makeup box and chose the cosmetics that I needed at that time and the rest is history.

    My best friend looks beautiful inside and out without any makeup so making her even more beautiful is a no sweat job for me. I guess any makeup artist wouldn't have to work so hard if their client is as beautiful as Sam.

I couldn't tag him though because he didn't have any website when I asked him and I actually forgot his name. hahahaha But yeah, all credits to him for the official photos that I used above. By the way, of course I did asked him if I could use the photos for my blog and he said yes.

Stay Chic with Cocomelody

    I love weddings! I always think of it as something very sacred and special. It's a momentous event that binds two people who are one in love. It isn't only special for those are are getting wed but it is also special for the people who love them.

    Next week, one of my college friends is actually getting wed and I could only think of the best for her. I particularly excited to see her wedding dress soon which I am sure is as amazing as she is. If I were to be her stylist though, I would recommend only the best wedding dresses for my friend.

     Any bride would surely look good in my choices above. I love how those dresses that can make any bride look effortlessly chic and sexy without having to show so much skin, which is just proper for an occasion like weddings.
