DIY Travel Memento Box

One of the most underrated aftermaths in traveling is collecting little things that could some up your whole trip. That could be a pebble or a coin. We'll never know the real value of something just because it is petite. A piece of stone or a dried leaf could bring a happy memory to a traveler.

If you are the kind of traveler who loves keeping little things as a memento of your recent travel, this DIY travel memento box is for you!

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • an empty unused box ( I used an old shoe box for this one)
  • an old map ( I used the maps I used as a student before!)
  • glue/scotch tapes (any pasting material which works for you is okay)

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Cover your box with a map. Try to check if your map is enough to cover the whole box. It's alright not to cover the inside of your box with a map. Covering your memento box with a map is a great way to remind you of that wonderful travel! You may use a glue or a tape to cover your box. Any pasting material is fine as long as you have your box covered.
  2. Decorate your box. Here's the fun part, you are free to put any decorations as you wish on your box. A lettering, a photograph or a small shell will do.
  3. Fill in your box with the things you treasured the most from your travels. Viola! you have your own travel memento box.

For my box, I decided to decorate it with a photograph of my friend that I took for our travel inspired pictorial. Then I used a DIY bookmark as a frame of her photo. I love how it looked like! What do you think?

Let me know if you want to learn how to make the paper bookmark. I would love to post a DIY tutorial here on my blog for you!
I wrote the words live and travel on the opening side of the box. I think somehow, to travel is to live.
That's it for this quick and easy DIY tutorial. Let me know what you think on the comment section below. Do you guys also keep some things out of your travel?

I hope you always find time to travel, even without going places.  :)

love lots,
Tin

Why I Love Visiting Museums

They asked me why I love visiting museums.

They said those places are old, creepy and boring.

I’m gonna miss a confetti of fun staying there for so long,

they insist.

“It’s the walls”,
I simply answered.

My heart is contended with the way

the old forgotten stones

patiently kept and deconstructed

the things that are supposed to be.

Things like

his story-

the only past that I love to restore and repeat.

Colourpop Lippie Stix in Fancy and Frida (Review)

If you are a makeup junkie like me you've probably heard about Colourpop Cosmetics. I've read reviews about their makeup products and reading those reviews just made me more curious about their quality.

Since I am a lipstick kind of girl, I bought two of Colourpop's Lippie Stix. One for me and one for my bff Shie. I chose the shade named 'Frida' while my bff opted for the shade 'Fancy'. The two shades have a satin formula and a pinkish tone.

I do not know what's the story behind the shade Fancy but I've found out that the shade Frida is inspired by the Mexican artist Frida Kahlo. A very bold and brave name in arts whose works inspired me for a number of times. The shade was created as a collaboration of Colourpop and Dani of CoffeeBreakwithDani. Dani once stated that the lippie is also inspired by girls who love coffee. You know how much I love arts and coffee, so owning one lippie stix in Frida is like owning something worth inspiring for me. hehehe

Enough of my blabber and let's start with the product review!
PACKAGING

The packaging of the lippie stix is simple but somewhat cute. It came to me in a box container with the product's name, manufacturing date and description. Inside the box is a piece of paper where the ingredients of the lippie stix were all written.

The tube of the lippie stix has a very sleek design. It is also light weight which makes it easier to fit in any makeup pouch no matter how small it is. The bottom part of the lippie stix shows the color of the product as well as the name of its shade and its finish.

PRICE

I bought the lippie stix for 390php each that's 8.309 USD. That's somewhat affordable but of course I have to pay the shipping fee from my seller so I spent more than it's price.

WHERE TO BUY

I do not know exactly where you can find a physical store that sells the lippie stix. It probably depends on your residence. Here in the Philippines, they're not yet available in malls and beauty outlets. I got mine from an online shop in Instagram. You may purchase their products online for sure just by visiting their website.

The photo above shows the swatches of the two shades. As you can see, they look very identical in the photo. Both of them have a light and pinkish tone. But, once you applied the two in your lips, that's the time you can clearly distinguish the colors of the two.

Here's what it looks like on the lips:

As you can see, the shade Fancy is definitely brighter and more vibrant than Frida. It's pink but with a hint of orange. Frida on the other hand looks more neutral. It's a combination of pink and nude, making it look more neutral.

Talking about it's longevity, the two lasts up to 4 hours. Considering the fact that the two have a satin finish, I think it's pretty decent that they lasts long. I must say that the two shades are both perfect for an everyday makeup look.

PRO's
-  available in so many shades and finish
- smells good (it has a somewhat buttery smell)
- lasts long considering its finish
- doesn't feel heavy on the skin
- very pigmented

CON's
- isn't readily available
- can get a little pricey when purchased online

Colourpop lippie stix isn't something that I should consider a must have for everyone although, it has more pro's than cons. I think you can have something better with using all the money you spend buying the product. The lippie stix itself is affordable, but because it's not readily available, you have to make online purchase making it pricey.

The best thing about their lippie stix though is that they are available in so many beautiful shades and finish. Since I only have the ones that are in satin, I would love to try those that are in another finish such as the ones that are matte!

Have you tried Colourpop Cosmetics yet? Let me know what you think about their products below.

Walk the Aisle with Landybridal Wedding Dresses

Have you ever find yourself imagining your wedding day? Oh, well, I do. It's a little crazy how our imagination could take us, right? But who cares? imagination is free and it must be wild and free as it is!

One of the things that I often think about is my future wedding dress. I always imagine how it would look like, I remember making my own designs and sketches just to give life to it. Of course, we wouldn't know for sure about those kind of details, but one thing I am sure of is that it must be made of some delicate laces! You probably know by now how gaga I am over laces, so obviously, my supposedly dress in a lifetime must have laces.

If you are someone like me who also adores laces that much, maybe we might start checking for some inspirations as early as now. Recently while I was browsing through online catalogs, I've found a number of inspiring dresses in Landybridal. I love how the website offered so many choices for future brides all over the world.

That's why I couldn't help but also pick some of my favorites haha.
Here are my top finds from Landybridal :
If you are feeling like the queen darling of England, well long and sexy vintage lace wedding dresses like this one might be perfect for you! I love how simple and stunning it is. The wonderful flow and cut of its laces also adds a majestic drama to the whole look of the dress.

This is something that I would definitely wear. I think wearing this one would give anyone that royal feeling of being her own queen on her wedding day!
If you are inspired by the Disney princesses, a beautiful Ivory dress like this one would be the perfect fit for your dream fairy tale. A long train is the perfect match for its wide and blooming appearance.
The last piece where my heart fell into is in this short but very pretty dress! I know a number or probably most brides are into the traditional length, but I don't wanna close my eyes to possibilities like wearing something short like this dress.

I think short wedding dresses would be very flattering to those are aren't gifted with long spidey legs like me! I personally think that it also looks more playful and comfortable than long wedding gowns.

If you are to be wed this year, don't look any farther and check Landybridal. However, if you are to be wed next year, don't be sad because they are also offering wedding dresses 2016 that you will surely love! Oh yes, they are waiting just for you.

If you need your dress asap, but your budget is limited, happiness is right after you because they have free shipping offer until the 21st of this month. That is a gigantic gift because you know how much shipping fee costs these days right?

Some brides these days turn into bridezellas because of so much stress but I must insist that it is always a matter of widening one's horizon. Not just about finding that perfect dress, but also in life.

love lots,
Tin
